About Kittens, Kids & Xmas Cards in Summer

Woww, wowwww, It is Summer Time,,,,so Iasked to Monika to create some cards with my "Summer Time by Agnes Richardson" and she did these so stunning cards,,,,,,,,,,They are a must-have to watch.......
I have two cards for you, made using some lovely Nicecrane Designs images.I have been working with the ‘Summer Time by Agnes Richardson’ Set, which contains 5 beautiful vintage summer images, two of which I have chosen for today’s post.

Both cards were inspired by the beautifully hot weather here in the UK!!!

This card is a celebration of the British Seaside. I had to use the lovely Papermania Portobello Road Papers. They were just perfect to go with this lovely seafront scene. The best thing about these Summer Time images is that they are already pre-coloured, and of course, being digital, they can be easily resized to whatever fits your requirements. Perfect for quick and stunning cards.

As you can see I’ve only just got back from holiday … still in beach mode, I guess … hmmm

This one is all about Summer, Sun & Fun! The image reminds me of those Arcade Boards where you can stick your face through to have your picture taken. I suppose you could re-create the effect by cutting the faces out and sticking some other faces in their place …

I have some more of the wonderful ‘Summer Time by Agnes Richardson’cards for you. Again I am using the lovely Nicecrane Designs Images. Initially I thought that ‘Summer Perils’ would be a fitting post title …
This card is based on a sketch I saw on Nonni’s Blog, one of my fellow DTs at Addicted to Stamps and More. I liked it so much, that I wanted to give it a go. Here is my take:

It is very easy to make and would be a good Beginner’s Project. Layer some pretty paper on some dark brown card and attach to your base card, then layer the three strips across and add some faux stitching (dashes) using a fine liner pen. Cut out your image leaving a narrow white border, attach to some dark brown card and affix to card as shown. To finish off add some flowers, buttons and sentiment as shown.

For my next card the chosen peril is bees. Bees are actually quite lovely and if one keeps still they usually leave on their own accord, which can also be said for wasps … but then there was a time when I too was afraid of them and ended up like this …

This image makes me smile. Not that one would get hands and knees bandaged in such a way after a bee sting, this come more from falling whilst running, my knees were almost bandaged up … hmmm … maybe that’s why I prefer crafting to running …

For my last card I played around with the diamond shape card from Quick Cards Made Easy’s Card School (issue 116). It’s the one I used for the Fairy Garden card. I played round with the design and altered it a bit … just couldn’t help myself …

I leave it to your imagination what the peril in this one could be ….

And what about Christmas in Summer?
I really love Ira' s Crea Corner blog,,,,,,she is so talented, so unique,,,so I send her some free digis,,,,,, to create anything and now,,,,,,,I am showcasing the stunning and sweet work by Ira. I am falling in love with her amazing colorization and all over these grey colors,,,,,,,to get this incredible look.

Gosh, it's so hot outside, and here am I, posting this icy card, lol! Oh well, there is a first for everything, even Christmas cards! So there we are! A little while ago Ignacio from Nicecrane Designs generously offered me a free image from her beautiful store, needless to say I chose this nostalgic image which has an amazing Dickens feel! Thanks again dear Ignacio, love the images (yes, they come in a set!) I coloured my image with Spectrum Noir markers and used quite a lot of greys for I wanted to create those dark days before Christmas. I added some frantage for that 'snowy look'. A couple of girls are shooting curious looks towards this fancy lady... Where is she heading... will she be Christmas shopping maybe? Thank goodness we first get to enjoy this wonderful summer before we can start thinking of Christmas!

A "Cat Book"...by Catherine

You know Catherine is a cat lover,,,,so I sent her my funny "Kitten Garden of Verses" Sheet to create other amazing creation, and here is her really unique and so unnusual "Cat Book"

Max and I are mad about cats... So for his birthday, instead of making him a card, I have made a "Cat Book"... For the shape I have used - as a template - the lid of a box of Whiskers treats (I traced around it, then scanned it and enlarged it a bit)... Here is my little book... First the "cover"...

Then the first page... Max loves tea, so I had to put a mug somewhere !!!

Second page : Max loves fishing although he hasn't done it for a long time...

Third page : I made two "stamps" using some of the images of the "Kitten Garden of Verses" as Max is an avid philatelist...

Recipe : The Papers and Flowers were free with a magazine - Images from Nicecrane Designs ("The Kitten Garden of Verses" Set) - Cat, Mug, Fish and Leaves : Dies from Creata - Sentiments from Papercupcakes Stamps.

Ignacio
Such amazing creations I see before me.
The kitten project is so adorable but I love that it is also practical. Sometimes we search for a pretty way in which to present gift cards.
I must say Thank You. You are always to generous with your lovely comments on my Blog Adorn, I appreciate your visits and comments so very much.
Some months ago you asked for me to select a free set of images, I did e-mail you but I did not receive a response. I wanted to say this now because maybe you thought I was ignoring your generous offer.
Also, recently you asked again for me to select a free image sheet. Could I please have the one called
Poets Muse (I believe that is the title).
I can be contacted at
ReadingRoom12@aol.com

Thank You for your wonderful, generous spirit.
Wishes
Lynne
