Crafting at Christmas Time

Fascinating Xmas Ball Ornaments

I am showing you my latest Christmas Balls Collection,,,,so I am asked to Lisa Minckler to work on these ones and here is her really incredible work,,,,:
I am feeling so much better today and I believe that the skin under my nose is finally starting to heal...yeah! Since I do feel more human, I decided it would be good to renew my relationship with the elliptical machine again....SO stupid!
Funny that I thought the flu was trying to kill me. Let me not get started on that death machine...nywho...

I was able to shuffle myself into the craftroom this weekend and decided that I would have a little play with Ignacio's latest images Funny Christmas Ball Iand II.

They began on Silhouette cut rosettes

and then for some idiotic reason I thought learning origami at 4 in the morning wouldn't be taxing at ALL on my brain... Let's not go there either!

But lookie here, I did it! I would recommend a full 8 hours of sleep and perhaps actually finishing one cup of coffee before starting, but if you'd like to make these as well...here's the link.
HINT: They give you instructions on how to fold paper to make the beginning hexagon shape...I have a cutting machine that cut one out for me and then I varied the sizes for small, medium and large.

Each rosette is double sided and layered with an ornament ball.

The foliage and pinecone are made from the TH Tattered Pinecone Sizzix Alterations. Papers are from 7 Gypsies and all colored surfaces are with TH distress paints.
The files are so much fun to play with. Ignacio makes each sheet the with the perfect amount of layering circles and it's up to you how you'd like to decorate them. I think these will be going on some gifts this year.

They are a MUST HAVE on Christmas for any crafter:

My Nicecrane piece above uses one of the lovely Birds and Blossoms images.............can you tell I am already thinking ahead to Spring............a background of Dylusions, then script and grids randomly stamped, a Timmy clock onto which I scattered some Frantage, dies cut leaves, some twine, hessian and corner embellies.

Victorian Christmas Cards

Do you love Victorian Style?

If so, Then you ´ll enjoy creating with these vintage and all over victorian image3s to create your stunning Xmas Victorian Cards,,,,,I asked to Brenda at my Dt to work with these sets and here is her incredible work:

I mean when I say you see a stamp or image and can immediately visulise the card you are going to make, well the beautiful image on the top card was one of those, she is such a little angel. I could see her decoupaged and standing in an aperture with little added colour other than some gold glitter on the Christmas tree and some die cut stars, she is far too pretty to fuss with. She is one of the images from the Vintage Christmas saver pack, great value at $4.50 for about eighteen images.

I absolutely adore this image, not only the colours but the little girls angelic face. She is from the Children in Victorian Age 111 design set. The frame is from Tonic which I randomly stamped with distress inks before making up and then rubbed over with a couple of colours of gilding wax.

This card has one of the eight designs in the Adorable Christmas design set teamed up with Penny Black Reindeer dies and an embossed frame with I coloured with gilding waxes. The sentiment on this card and the one at the top is from All Occasion Dies, clever sets as the Happy comes in a set in two sizes and the Christmas in another sets again in two sizes and then there are also Birthday, Anniversary and so on and they all mix and match and at between £4.40 and £5.50 a set great value for money.

Vintage Christmas Cards

Brenda at my DT was working my my cute and vintage Christmas sheets,,, so here is her stunning work.,.,,,,,You can`t miss it.:

I love these Robins from the Victorian Birds design set, they really lend themselves to decoupage

I think this is probably one of my favorite Christmas Nicecrane Designs from the Vintage Merry Christmas set

This pretty Christmas Robin is from the Antique Christmas set

lthough I am a stamper first and foremost, what I particularly like about Nicecrane Designs sets is that you can make your cards as simple or as elaborate as you wish and also incorporate stamping as I have done in the top card. The card at the bottom of the post which was a recent Penny Black DT piece is another example of combining them with stamping.

This house from the Adorable Christmas set just radiates winter warmth

And finally a little collage of close up's.......I created it in Photoshop which I have been playing with this last week, it's slow going but I am determined to master it

Creating with Warming Animals

I love vintage animal illustratins and all over the ones by Cecil Aldin,,,,, one of my favorite illustrator , so I am offering two new sheets based on their famous and warming animals illustrations ,,,,,I am sure you´ll enjoy these latest releases:

Cecil Aldin was born in 1870 and began his working life as a magazine illustrator. He soon became famous for his sporting prints, posters, children’s books and pictures of old inns but he became world famous for his portrayals of dogs. It was said of him that he “captured the very soul of a dog”. His original artworks are now highly prized by collectors and there are regular exhibitions of his work.
