DO YOU LOVE STEAMPUNK????

Jenny did this unique and vintage Steampunk Card with my " Vintage London Underground advertising Vol II. and she added some foam parts to create a really incredible 3D effect:

Hi everyone. I want to start this post by offering my heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all those affected by the tragic events in Boston yesterday. Horrific things like this always help to put your own challenges into perspective.

The thought of creating your own background stamp in this way was too good an opportunity to miss.Out came the Cut n Dry Foam and one of the Texture Fades embossing folders (you'll recognise the one:)  After heating the grey side with the heat gun I pressed the folder into it for a short time. Hey presto! a great impression made.

The grey side took to being covered in Distress Ink really well, even with two colours applied. And it was even easier to get a clear impression from  stamping it on white cardstock as the spongy side was great for squishing down with very little pressure. Next job - cover the ink in patches of Walnut Stain Distress Embossing Powder and copper mica powder and heat until set (a bit of water spritzing was required to set the mica).

The long strip is another piece of the 'faux rust' card made with Distress Paints/Inks/Stains (details HERE).
The poster image is a Nicecrane Design favorite of mine called Vintage London Underground advertising Vol II. It looks even better when distressed with some ink and water spritzing. Now it was time to pile on the embellishments. Various die cut shapes in different textures (goodness I love the new Sizzix Thinlits).

Pin Ups, Birds and Children ' s Paintings

Katrine B. from my DT did this funny and sexy Pin Up Card working with my " Fascinating Pin Ups CS", enjoy watching it.

NiceCrane  Designs has gradually built up a good selection of tasteful pin-up designs that is perfect for men's cards. I have used a design from THIS sheet to decorate my herretag.

I have spent a great power-tag as the base and embellished with some patterned paper. The design is cut with a die from Marianne Design and the mat behind is cut with a Spellbinders die.

I found the text from the Quick & Well- matched so well to the occasion and design! I stamped on the wood veneers from Studio Calico.  -KatBra-

This card is one of those that was in my head but took some doing to turn it into reality. I would imagine by now we've all seen/attempted Tim's 'faux verdigris' technique on his April tag. He challenged us to use different colours, and in recent posts I've shown you my 'faux rust' version. That got me thinking "What other 'faux effects can I create by mixing up these wonderful Distress Paints?"

Lori Hairston was working with my funny "Little French Flower CS" ,what a curious way and so unique to aply them to amazing and gorgeus Embellished Envelopes.

Working with VINTAGE CHOCOLAT ENVELOPES
Will these do?  That's what I'm asking myself.   A lovely lady wants to write love notes to both of her sisters.    She wants something pretty to put them in and for them to be a lot alike, but not exact.  She loves vintage and seam binding ribbon.
I decided that embellished envelopes would fit the bill.   Then I selected these lovely images from Nicecrane Deigns.  They are from the Little French Flower set.
She can slip her notes right in the embellished envelopes and her sisters will have a keepsake.
Now, about the crepe paper fringe... I had a couple of emails this week asking how to make the fringe I used on a couple of gift bags awhile back.

I'm happy to tell you how I made it -  I don't know if it's right, but it works! . I use crepe paper that comes on rolls.  I like to cut it just a little longer than the size I need, then I  fold it in half.  I don't have fringe scissors, but regular scissors work just fine.  I don't even worry about whether it's the same size or not.  (Just make sure not to cut through the fold!)  I usually use four layers - just glue them on top of each other at the fold.  That's it - easy, right?

Vintage Easter Greeting Cards

I used one of the graphics to create a great little card.  I wanted to pull the off white out of the picture and inked the doilies with a color called pebble and then misted it with some Tattered Angels Sparkling Silver. I used a some paper out of my stash to pull the red and greens out of the picture.

Here's the greeting I started with. I just love the sentiment.
