Beatrix Potter Coasters

Beatrix Potter Coasters

Astrid Mclean was working with my Peter Rabbit Cliparts.so directly from her blog" My  grandaughter in law requested a set of coasters and place mats so they can play (and learn) at setting the table.

Well, I could not refuse that, so here you are, a set of coasters with (more or less) matching place mats, using some of the wonderful Nicecrane images I still had in my collection from the time I was on his design

The illustrations are of course by Beatrix Potter, but Nicecrane has a number of collections using these images. The coasters are all altered beer mats, using his ATC collections.

I printed them on mat photo paper in their original size, glued them onto the beer mats and then used gesso, paints, stamps and stencils to blend them onto the beer mats. This was actually quite tricky as the beer mats are of course a different size.

I am quite happy with how the original photo paper has all but disappeared into the background, just by adding some colour and extending some of the images, like this tree branch.
I also added some shadows around the images to make them stand out a bit against their backgrounds.

Amazing Andersen Card

Did you remember Andersen Fairy Tales,,,,based on  their famous play I have designed a new sheet and I asked to Gracielle to create some amazing card,,,so directly from her blog:I love pastel hues and Easter is just the perfect time to use them on our papercrafting projects. Today I'm sharing a sweet Easter card with a beautiful vintage image from a Nicecrane Designs digital set called Amazing Andersen DSL.

Fascinating Book Cover

Detailed View (Based on the Ugly Duck)

I printed the image on white linen cardstock and cut it with a delicate die cut. I stenciled and colored the image in very soft pastel colors with Spectrum Noir markers. I put the card together mixing two different patterns, and mounting the image on a heirloom frame. I finished the card with a satin ribbon double bow.
