Louis Wain Kittens Cards & Adroable Kewpie Baby Tag

You know I love Vintage Kitten Illustrations,,,,so I have designed a new "Adorable Louis Wain Kittens " Sheet,,,,,to add these adorable creatures to your cards and any craft you can imagine. I ask to Monika Skinner to do some funny cards to show you all the potential on these picts.

Back again with some more cards using the lovely Nicecrane Designs Images. This time I am using some catty ones … The Adorable Louis Wain Kittens. As you know, I am simply unable to resist anything catty, especially anything as cute as these adorable kittens.
Lady’s first … so here we go … The Belle of the Ball on a bed of roses …

These images are so nice that I feel reluctant to add lots and lots of embellishments. For ‘Belle’ I decided to use some pretty paper for the background and some feathers for her fan. I then simply added a brad, some die-cut swirls, thanks Sue for your lovely present, and gems. As always my choice of colours has been inspired by the image itself. I really find the colours of the pre-coloured Nicecrane Designs’ stamps easy to match to card and papers that are currently available in the shops.

Keeping with the musical theme … here is the world famous tenor Cattos

For Cattos, I did some decoupage. I simply printed the image twice and cut out the song sheet with part of his arm and layered it slightly offset to give more depth. Everything else was pretty straight forward, mat and layer with pretty papers and borders plus some chip board shapes for some extra interest and a touch of glitter glue to finish.… hmmm … wonder if he is singing for ‘Belle’ ….

One thing is sure, he won’t be singing for this little fellow …

… who is somewhat bed bound at home. I die-cut the image with some oval nesties and blended the edges with some blue ink before matting it on an oval deckle cut piece of blue card. I then put some core-dinations card through an embossing folder, thanks again Sue for being so generous, and adhered it to my blue base card. I then cut out the sentiment which was part of the original image, stamped and cut out the ‘get well’ sentiment before assembling the card as shown and finishing off with some sparkly flowers.

AND NOW ENJOY THES NEW
LEADER CARD & SHADOW BOX CARD TUTOS

Some more cards using the lovely Nicecrane Designs Images. This time it’s for the second helping and the final two of The Adorable Louis Wain Kittens.

Let’s start with ‘The Victor’ …

Leder Card  (Tutorial below)
… A somewhat battered and bruised happy chappy … much admired …

… as you can see. The inspiration for this card cam from some catty playtime, climbing up the neighbour’s willow tree. I also wanted to give the card a look of adventure and exploration of unchartered territories. That’s why I chose to make a lever card following Laura Lippe’s tutorial, but I changed the dimensions to suit me.

And now to The Vanquished ….

Shadow Card
… the one who got beaten by the elements and is lost at sea. The shadow box card style gives it the air of a picture frame on the mantle piece. Click here for the shadow box card tutorial. I wrote the instructions myself adding lots of pictures, which would have been too much for this post.

Hope you enjoyed the catty journey, back next week with some more catty adventures … in the meantime feel free to pop by the Nicecrane Designs Blog for more inspiration.

Do you love Victorian Women?
I have just finished a new Victorian Sheet called "Henry Hutt`s Women", so colorful,  so elegant, so vintage,,,so you can`t miss this new collection....to work. I asked to my friend Catherine to create something to showcase it and here is the gorgeus work she did,,,,wowww, woww,

A Charming Lady...

Picts Included in my Sheet

I had to enter the challenge with Live and Love Crafts... First, because I love their products and it would be fantastic to win a voucher (lol) and then because I found their sketch rather interesting... There is quite a lot of layers, and it makes my card quite busy but I hope you will like it... Here is the card...

And here is the sketch...

Recipe : Papers from Prima (" Collection) - Image from Nicecrane Designs ("Henry Hutt's Women" Set) - Flowers : Dies from Creata - Leaves : Die from Crealies - Butterfly : The die was free with a magazine - The lace was dyed in a cup of tea !

Florence was also working with stunning sheet and she mixed these vintage ladies with Steampunk Theme,,,to get a really so unnusal and all over so fascinating cards,,,,,,,, you are Rock Florence

For my first project I have gone for a vintage steampunk theme.

Please click on photo to enlarge

I had lots of fun making this card. I used Nicecrane Designs digital images* of the Henry Hutt’s Ladies and the steampunk (fobwatch shape) dial. I also used a french themed embossing folder for one of the layers which I love!! The rest of the layers are just made up of scrap bits and bobs. All I did was layer the pieces up into a collage. I did distress the lady image with some DIs to tone down the colour and added a shabby flower and berry pins to her hat.

This is my second card – Vintage Lace

Please click on photo to enlarge

I used the same Nicecrane Designs digital image sheet*. I collected all of my pieces of paper and embellishments and then just assembled the card layer by layer starting at the bottom

Just to share – Tip for attaching ribbon: I attached the ribbon to a thin piece of card first before I attached it to the backing paper. I just glued the ends of the ribbon to a strip of card of the same length. I then attached the whole piece to the backing paper by just gluing the ends of the card to the underneath of the paper. This keeps the ribbon flat and has a neat fold over at each end. When I had attached the ribbon piece to the backing paper, just at both ends, I stapled the ribbon centrally, through the ribbon card and backing sheet, this holds it nicely in place to add embellishments to. The staple is then hidden by the flowers.

Just to share – Handmade flowers: I made some flowers out of some pretty papers. I saw a utube video by Sherry Cheever……I am never buying paper flowers again!!!

How I made my flowers : I cut out my flowers from the paper using a die and brushed the shapes both sides with water using a small paint brush. I then scrunched them as per the video (link above). Now then, this was the funny part. When I dried them with the heat gun the flowers wrinkled slightly. This gave a nice effect but made me think that the paper may possibly have some sort of synthetic fibre in it. Please be careful if you do this and your paper shows sign of wrinkling or shrinkage. I wouldn’t want anyone inhaling nasties.

These are to the digital images sheets I used. please click on image for more info.

Vintage Ladies & Pets, Bunnies & Sweet F. Brundage

Ooo La La – Cardmaking (Beauty ladies & funny pets)

Wowww, woww, woww, Florence was working with my new Vintage French Sheet "Vintage Ladies & Pets" to create these funny and all over so colorful french cards.
I’ve been working with some of the new releases from Nicecrane Designs. When we are given the choice of products to use I normally say I really don’t mind what products I try out, which is true, but when I saw these I wasn’t quite sure. They are not really my thing but I soon changed my mind when I printed them off.

They print out beautifully even though I did use the cheapest of card stock. The detail is fabulous. I think the soft colours really do work with these illustrations.

I took another photo close up so you can have a good look at this image. They are really pretty and feminine.

It is funny. I only really see things in shapes and colours but when choosing colours for embellishments and papers for cards I struggle a bit so I rely on the image colours for my inspiration. I’m not really a pink person but I love the colours in this image.

I have used all sorts of scraps of paper from my stash to make the embellishments. I wanted to go with a fru fru style on this one. Lots of girly pink and frills.

Enjoy my new "Vintage Ladies & Pets"
