OLD WORLD MAP / VINTAGE NATURE

Lynne  did do a bit of stamping here! The base card was stamped all over with an old freebie map stamp from Craft Stamper Magazine, with the bookmark image matted on to a thin gold border and placed on top. I didn't want to detract from the image, so the only embellishment is a little sentiment banner. (Banner stamp:Waltzing Mouse, sentiment: Clarity Stamp, a freebie from a show.)

And finally my product preview,,,,,,wowwwww

Lynne also was working wiht my  Nature Sheets .Nicecrane has several sets on a nature theme, which is right up my street. My favourite is called "Colorful Nature", with vintage-style images of birds and animals. I used the four bird pictures to make a set of cards. It looks as though I cut them out with a Nestie label die, but though I have one of those it was the wrong size, so I just cut away each corner with a round hole punch.

The eagle-eyed amongst you will spot just a teeny-weeny bit of stamping (a tiny border by Waltzing Mouse)! Apart from that, the images are simply mounted on to a background cut with Martha Stewart punch-around-the page punches, and each is matted on different coloured Bazzil card which I inked around the edges to continue the vintage feel. I think they make a pretty set.

Wowww, ladies,,,,,today I am showing the amazing work by Brenda from my DT, she was working with some previous sheets,to create these stunning cards:

She is offering a grogeus freebie in her blog HERE

All in the sentiment and Saturday candy

Today it's my turn to host the challenge at Allsorts and I have chosen the theme 'It's all in the sentiment", there are some wonderful inspirational quotes and sentiments available which I love using on my work and hope you will join in this week and show us your favourites.

The top card uses what I think is my all time favourite Penny Black quote which I have simply stamped onto some Teresa Collins DP, a nestie frame and two decoupaged butterflies from Nicecrane Butterfly Twinches sheet.

This second piece is the result of a bit of a play with the Cricut Mini yesterday, the frame and base card being one cut on the machine laid over an image from the Harrison Fisher ladies sheet and another Penny Black image. Some Cheery Lynne leaves and rose made from the Tonic Rose punch and stamp set.

Now here is the elegant and all over so stunning wotk by Lynne (Thanks a million my friend, I am falling in lov with this Notebook cover). To start this new week I am laying DT samples to the side for the moment to share with you a notebook I have altered. Many of you will have heard of NiceCrane Designs. If not, then you will discover a wealth of images for sale HERE. Not so long ago Ignacio generously sent my way Muse of Poets to play with. I knew immediately that I would be using one of the images to alter a notebook cover.

Notebook Cover by Lynne

When working with digital images I always consider first the size of the image and surface I will choose to print it onto. I knew from the outset I would be covering the notebook with laces I had previously stained so in this instance printing onto glossy or regular cardstock would not provide the appearance I was aiming for but I did dither, undecided if to choose TAP or canvas printer paper. In the end I opted for canvas printer paper. The detail is exquisite even on this textured surface. Unusually for me I didn’t ink the edges all I did was abrade the edges for texture trimming with some fragments of the stained lace.
Underneath the layers of lace, in some areas there are three layers of lace, I first laid down artist canvas sheet, this is not the same as the printing surface. The rear of the notebook I left unadorned. I wonder, can you see the stamped script? I stamped the beautitful script from Oxford Impressions Venezia stamp plate directly onto the artist canvas sheet.

Caravans, Jessie Willcox, Incredible Girls & Victorian Bookmarks

Showing  you how you can create amazing creations working with adorable ilustrations from vintage children books,,,,,,,,,,,,.First of all I am showing the cute and so unnusual caravan by Ira Roberts:

Holiday Home

Stunning and all over so cute, cute Caravan by Ira Roberts.

Most of you will probably be familiar with the gorgeous images o fNicecrane Designs. I was invited by Ignacio to join the Design Team, but unfortunately I was unable to (due to other DTs and my job). And then Ignacio kindly allowed me to become a 'permanent guest designer', meaning that I can put up something whenever I like or have time. I came across this lovely 'caravan' on the internet and wouldn't mind having it in our backyard! But I thought a miniature version would look cute, too, so I made a smaller version with new papers from Action:

I am falling in love with the following sentiment used by Lori Hairston , to create a really so sweet card, working with my  " These Incredible Little Girls " .With these soft pastel tones,,,,it is a delcious to watch.....

Today is a Gift

Oh my, I am so hot and I don't mean in a good way! It's about 100 degrees today and of course, I HAD to have my hot tea this afternoon and on top of that I AM a woman of a certain age. What does that really mean anyway? Just that we are OLD? Anyway, I am focusing on the sentiment for this card. Today is a gift - it is, it really is...

Love this sentiment - I used to have it above my classroom door. It's on the inside of the card. For some reason, this sweet little girl heading down the stairs to start her day made me think of it. She is from Nicecrane Designs. Colored her with Copics and popped her off the scene.

She is from the set called These Incredible Little Girls. You may remember I used another image from that set in a wildflower seed paper project here. And here is a look at the entire set:
