Enchanted Spring, Flower Children & Vintage Flowers

Enchanted Spring

Jane at my DT did this gorgeus and all over Colorful Spring Card with my "Enchanted Spring Sheet",,,,, love it, love it,:My card today is a GD piece for Ignacio as his newest spring introductions are wonderful. You all enjoyed my blossoms and birds cards, this one uses his newest release,

Here is my card creation

and here is the gorgeous image in close up

I used my favourite floral oval die to cut her out and added lots of floral die cuts and also some sweet butterflies cut with my MS small butterfly punch. The backing paper is ancient, from my stash (which I am trying to use up before I buy any new ones ;0) The little tag sentiment is Lili of the Valley, I use these so much, they tuck in so well. The glittered brads add just a touch of zing.

I have just received this blog post from hellerlittle working with my FREEBIE and you can`t miss her amazing creation.......A really unique Birthday Card:

So directly from Kates`blog : Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is the end of the week, playtime tomorrow :) as my hubby is going fishing. So today I thought I would share a card that I made for my MIL birthday. I just loved colouring up this image and creating this sweet card for her. I used one of my favourite Nicecrane Designs Images called Flower Children, so here it is

 all PINK!!!!

This is an 8" card, and has a base layer and contrast of pink. I added several die cut layers some gorgeous designer papers along with some feathers. Before adding all those gorgeous Hobby House embellisments including the wonderful banner, there is a link in my side bar to them all.

Here is a close up of that gorgeous image coloured in copics, you just know I love my copics, they blend so well and really make the image pop.
Remember if you have not already I still have that new release Wild Rose Studio die as candy here

. I love the pretty flower fairy on the top card with the lovely contrast of deep green and pink, printed her onto white cardstock and then used Pan Pastels to add some background and stamped some Lavinia flowers and tiny fairy. Some little handmade roses using the smallest petal punch from Ruth's Tonic Rose punch and stamp set and lace, the DP is from stash but I think may be Kaiser.

Japanese Koi Card (Vellum Technique) & Nature Notes

Printing on Vellum Technique

Ginny at my DT asked me for any Koi image,,,,(Japanese fish),,,so Idesigned a new sheet and here is her stunning work:I'm feeling a little bit better today and decided to make my cards for the March OSA Koi Swap. Last Week I asked my friend Ignacio the owner and graphic designer at Nicecrane if he had a Koi images, When he replied to me it was "I do now"! He had worked up a new set of Japanese Koi digital stamps! This gave me 5 images to choose from !

http://nicecranedesigns.com/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&zenid=5shuh1nm2fgrp2jr7llitb8ua6&keyword=japanese+prints+%28fishes%29

I did another vellum printing overlay - very simple but very beautiful! The key with this is having an excellent graphic to print out, these Koi are perfect for this technique!

I printed out on 29# vellum. You can see the detail on the vellum here, One thing to remember when printing on vellum: It takes a little longer for the paper to dry. The vellum surface is very dry and it takes a bit longer for the ink to set in the paper.

I then printed two "texture images" from Nicecranes' Beautiful Japanese Texture background set.
you can see where I was running out of ink on the print on the left - that's okay, it looked lovely!

I Used a little ATG tape to adhere the layers together and a coat of this shimmery nail polish to give the scale a wet look
You can see how beautiful the background looks under the fish! I added a little distress inks to the edges for a little more depth.

I die cut an oval in my card stock and added some embellishments

Here are the finished cards!

I also used several of the Koi images printed on regular paper to make into ATC for another time, they print up beautiful on regular paper!!

I hope you give this overlay technique a try sometime it is really beautiful and not time or supply intensive!!

Working with Famous Victorian Nature Images

My friend Sue was working with one of my sheets by "Edith Holden" the famous Nature illustrator: I want to share a pre-colored digi from NiceCrane images. Even though you use a pre-colored digi, you still have to "create" you card and add some color to the digi. They are wonderful to use though. NiceCrane has a beautiful selection of them. Pop over and check them out!.Here is what I came up with by a digi from NiceCrane Images. The image is called Rabbit in the Reeds.

It's a dreary and dismal day down here. Hoping you have lots of sunshine! Have a great day and I will talk to you again soon. Suz

Come on over and visit me at the Outlawz and enter a card if you would like for Twisted Thursday's. You can enter anything you would like for Thursday's. Meaning that you don't have to stick to any particular theme. You may use a digi or any stamped image!

Products used: Stampin up DSP paper, Spellbinder Circle Cutter, Big shot Circle cutter, fibers, Prima flower.
But you can watch more creations working wit these sheets:

Here I am showing you this adorable and elegant creation by Pia... is this week's twist over at theOutlawz Twisted Thursday. For March we've got Nicecrane Designsand Paper Temptress as our wonderful sponsors, and for a chance to win you need to enter a project. It's Anything Goes every week, but if you use the optional twist you'll earn a second entry in the draw.

To me spring equals Easter, so I used this sweet little rabbit from Nicecrane - you can find it here - and an Easter sentiment from LOTV. I distressed the edges of the image with Walnut DI. I layered it onto a piece of yellow DP, used cream ad green paper and mounted it all onto a card base of kraft. The flowers are from Storyteller and Nille, I've used cheesecloth, burlap and string from my stash.

And Thre are a new creation,,,,,,by Janet...

Janet McLaughlin did this vintage and elegant card: Can you believe it is already the middle of March? I hope spring is starting to arrive wherever you are! Its still rather wintry in Northern Maine! But, it is Thursday and the beginning of a new Twisted Thursday Challenge at the Outlawz! The challenge is "Anything Goes....with the twist being...First Day Of Spring"!

I chose to use this beautiful image from Nicecrane Designs! It is from the Country Diary Calendar. It is a Pre-colored image that I printed out on Neenah paper. It is matted on black and then on brown Kraft paper from our sponsor The Paper Temptress! I added some die cut branches to the scene and a sentiment that I distressed to match the antique look of the print.

The inside is simple with just a stamp of a bird on a branch, and Washi tape across the bottom.

Some previous works,,,, with this collection:

Enjoy The Video with Edith holden Creations.

You can watch all pages on this animation......woww,woww.

I have been playing with another  of the beautiful images of the set "Nature Notes of an Edwardian Lady" you can find at Nicecrane Designs. If you like the artwork of Edith Holden you're in for a treat ! Here is the gift bag I have made...

About Flowers & Birds

Painted and Decoupaged Egss

You can`t miss this True Play of Art by Lisa Minckler working with my Flower Sheets(below)It's still not officially Spring yet, so I won't get my hopes up that old man winter is done with his nasty tricks, but in any case, the tree will be up to date and ready for Easter.

Ornament 1: Painted & Decoupaged Nicecrane Designs

They started out as pink plastic eggs from The Dollar Store.
First round was stickles in a flourish pattern for a little texture and framing for the flowers.

Next came the painting...

All three painted! Then flowers applied and then crackle applied.

Birds nest with twine, shredded brown bag and a little moss.

All inspired by the wonderful talent of Ignacio's shopNicecrane Designs

And here I got them all to smile for a closeup.

I managed to finish these all at the butt-crack of dawn because now daylight savings is having its way with me. I cannot. I repeat CANNOT stand Springing forward.

Chirpy Hello -

Hello everyone! I'm here to share one of a few cards lol. I've been busy making some DT cards but I also have a few to share for the progressive challenges that I follow!

This is one of my DT cards! This time for Nicecrane Designs. I have used some of my smaller cards recently and needed some more! So this was the perfect opportunity to make some.

For this card I used one of the fabulous images from the great Vintage birds save pack It's only 4.50$ for 10 fabulous images!

There are some for Christmas and some that are just perfect for Spring like the one that I'm using right now.

There's another thing that I just adore from making these smaller cards! I get to use some of my scraps of papers!!! I used my scallop and large circle from Spellbinder. The pearl flourishes are from recollections I got them on sale this week. Just love a great find like that.

Here's a closer look at the fabulous image and the great sentiment from Create with TLC

Thanks to Vicky and  Lisa for these stunning creations.
