My customized Easter Calling Cards

Vicky Fortier  did this adorable and all over vintage cute Easter Calling Card :I'm here to share with you a little card that I did for Easter with a fabulous image from Nicecrane Designs.  I decided to keep with the vintage feel of this. I went also with a fresh feel with the use of the yellow and the green.

I have used some papers that I had in my scrap pile. I added some lace for my vintage look. I put some buttons from my stash that I layered.

Here's a closer look at the fabulous precolored image. I used a great sentiment from Create with TLC that I recolored in my word document.

Girly Gatefold Card

I really love this creation by Pia,,,,,working with my "Bessie Gutmann Sheet" so directly from her blog: This week's optional twist over at theOutlawz Twisted Thursday is to make a gatefold card. Our April sponsors areNicecrane Designs and Paper Temptress, and for a chance to win you need to enter a project, and if you choose to use the twist you will earn an extra entry in the draw.

This little girl is an image from the Adorable Bessie DSL set, you can find it here. I colored it using Promarkers. The lovely DPs are from Maja Designs, I love the red, white and blue color combination, it makes me think of May which is my favorite month - I love spring! I mounted the image onto a panel of die cut circles, added some flowers and die cut leaves and stamped a small birthday sentiment

Beautiful Birds Gate Fold Card

And...What about this Bird Card by Darlene Pavlick?: I'm thrilled again this week to be sharing a card I've created as guest designer at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge. Remember this is an NYTHING GOES CHALLENGE with a TWIST. This week's TWIST is to create a GATE FOLD CARD!

I really enjoy creating gate fold cards but I must admit, I don't do it often enough. Today's challenge was a great opportunity to get back into making a few fancy fold cards for my stash! And of course, with flowers in the image, I just HAD to make some homemade flowers that matched in. So easy but such a great embellishment!

The inside of today's card has slightly decorated to match in with the front panels and can be used for a variety of themes! By simply 'notching' around the circle pattern on my design paper scrap piece, I was able to achieve a divider line for my sentiment/signature.

Earlier I mentioned the flower embellishments. They and my faux stitching are actually the only  mbellishments on this card. Of course this beautiful image speaks for itself and doesn't need much more in the way of embellishment. For the flowers I have used the Memory Box 'Petal Party' #98304 die set which I purchased throughDies R Us. By simply die cutting them on white card stock, sponging a bit of SU 'more mustard' ink in the center and conditioning the petals lightly with a stylus ... these 'matching' flowers were created in no time. The centers were adorned with Kaiser ivory pearls. The faux stitching was created with a white Gelly Roll pen!

Spring Love,,,,,,

Margreet Burger at my DT choose to work with funny animal couples,,,,sheet called "Spring Love" so here is her cute, adorble and all over stunning creation.....Thanks Margreet.

It is Love Time,,,,,woww,,,, so unique card by Margreet Burger

It's partytime at Divas by Design. We are celebrating our 3rd birthday with a bloghop. The darling image is from the Spring Love sheet of Nicecrane Designs. Behind the image I stuck Bille's Heart of Joy!crafts and at the left top a metal corner. Paper is Basic Grey and I distressed all edges, both with the distresser and with ink. Under the flower arrangement I used the Delicate Fern of Memorybox and various flowers, all tied up with a piece of lace. At the left you can also see a selfadhesive ribbon.

Configuration Box from

Mitra Lee at my DT did this really stunning and all over so creative Configuration Box,,,,working with my "French Postcards Mixed Media" Sheet, so directly from her blog here is it,,,,,Love it, love it, love it,,,,,wow,.

Eeeek! This box makes me so happy! And I made the WHOLE THING MYSELF as I cut all the pieces for the box and assembled them!

I wanted it super sturdy since I was planning on displaying it on the wall with that black glittery metal scallop so I folded the edges in half and stapled them. Then I stapled the whole thing together and used tissue paper and modge podge to cover up all the edges. A coat of gesso with some brown mist completed the process. I knew I was going to gesso it, so used some extra cardstock I had in this mustard color. :-)

The blue edge is a larger sized box that you cut and then use to nest all your boxes in. I painted the smaller boxes first and then added the blue box after it was dry. I used hot glue and glitter to further seal the edge.

One of my favorite parts of this box is the crazy hand made bird nest at the top paired up with a white Birch stick. Has to be a robin's nest, those loopy birds will build their nests anywhere!

The configuration boxes are very simple to cut as Regina at the Cutting Cafe has them numbered with very clear instructions & a diagram. Of course, they are normally much deeper than mine since mine are folded.

Deeper ones mean you can add all kinds of cool little trinkets & found items. I am thinking about one like that in my future!

I knew I wanted to show case some really pretty graphic files I got recently from Nicecrane so that was the second reason I folded down the sides. The French Post Cards Mixed Media images are AMAZING! Nice job Ignacio!

Here is a bit of a side view so you can see more of the blue edge and a little of the drippy hot glue that has been sprayed a bit with some gold.

And a close up of the images:

They are really quite lovely!
