Birds and Blossom
,,,I showed you my latest Bird Sheet called "Birds & Bblossoms " Yesterday,, and I asked to Margreet at my DT to create some vintage card wolrking with this cute sheet,,,,,,,,,.Take a look to her amazing card:

I felt like making a vintage card and the gorgeous sheets ofNicecrane Designs serve this purpose extremely.
I firstly stamped with the Penny Black Postcard stamp and then I stamped text and stamps with a Marianne Design sheet. On top of that I stuck the sweet Nicecrane image, after having cut with an edged pair of scissors. I further used some gaze, lace, HenpCord, birdcage, feathers and flowers. I hope you will like my card. Just take a look at Nicecrane's wonderful sheets!

I love this bird and blossom image also one of the new Nicecrane Spring designs, teamed it up with an embossed and gilded background, a Penny Black sentiment and some added blossoms and ribbon to compliment the ones on the image.

   I decided I'd make a small collage that showcased most of his images.

Here is the centerpiece I created.

What about this Colorful creation by Jane?:Last week Ignacio of Nicecrane sent his DT some of his new releases. I really loved these images, they are just perfect for spring themed projects and they are aptly named Blossoms and Birds. I decided that it was a perfect time for my inspiration from my garden to help me create a few projects for him as his DT guest designer.

Finally,,,,,,,,my friend  Mary H,  did a colorful tag working with this sheet,,,,so as you can watch they are really very useful ones.

Image is by Nice Crane Designs from a new set that was just posted to the store, Birds and Blossoms II. This set has several really beautiful bird images in it. Image printed on Xpress c/d (found that this cardstock yielded quite a vivid image). Still playing with printer settings though. Die cut with the Grand Label 4, also die cut a shaped cardbase from white. Did a bit of additional shading with copics, just because I wanted to. Sponged some DI Broken China adding some Seedless Preserves around the bottom area. Also used just a tiny bit of Seedless Preserves around the outside edge so that the white cardbase did not show.

Vicky Fortier at my DT did an amazing and creative Birthday Card, sol here is it:This one I should have posted earlier last week... but it was pretty busy with the business trip that I did so I'm late sharing it with you.

It's made with the great Greeting cards 002 from Nicecrane Designs on a little gift card holder.
It's great because the image are precolored! So make for very fast cards.

The card base is one that I got as part of a kit. I used my label 11 from Spellbinder and some ribbon and scrap piece of papers!

Here's a closer look at the fabulous digi:

And on the back where you will open to put the gift card I put a little sentiment from Create with TLC I used my scallop and large cicles from Spellbinder.

New and True Digis , Alice in Wonderland & Spring Cards

Wowww,wwwwowww, Astric Maclean was working wiyh my adorable " New & True" Digital Sheet, and she did this amazing and unique vintage card,,,,,with these gorgeus flowers , heart and lace,,,,,I am really fallin in love with this creation,,,, You can`t miss this sheet,,,,Thanks again Astrid.

I chose to work with this amazing collection of digital stamps and had so much fun colouring my chosen image!Digi stamps don't only save lots of space of course, but the great thing is that you can re-size them to fit your project.

Here is a close up of the stamp I chose. I coloured it with some Faber Castell Big Brush markers, which I had scribbled on my craft mat and then picked up with a refillable water brush

I created a large 9 by 7" card, which eventually will become the cover of a journal. I used a wonderful vintage paper collection from Kaisercraft's Sweet Nothings" collection and over-stamped in various areas with some background stamps, also from Kaisercraft.

      

I heavily distressed all the edges of my paper, then stitched around it and adhered it to a cream coloured card base.It was embellished with various die cuts, flowers and a rusty heart.I also added some lace for a vintage feel to match the lovely vintage stamp.

A sentiment from the Tim Holtz Simple Sayings set and some pearl brads finishes it all off.Well, hope you liked my sponsor spotlight. Laura will show you another amazing project on the 25th. Don't forget to come back for that....

Coloring Alice in Wonderland

I am an Alice in Wonderland Fan,,,,so I asked to Anne to work with some of my vintage Alice sheets,,,to color in her own style,,,,so directly from her blog: :I loved reading Alice in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll, when I was a child. My favourite bit is where the White Rabbit, dressed in a lovely waistcoat, runs along at the side of Alice. He pulls out a pocket watch, exclaims that he is late and then pops down a rabbit hole.......

I have had these images of Alice for a little while now, from Nicecrane and recently had the opportunity to get them out, colour one of them and make a journal page for a friend. I have two friends called Mo and this is the friend who does not have a blog, she is better known as TwinkleToes. Last year Mo did a year long challenge with the Craft Barn which used letters, words and definitions. She put all the pages into a journal. Mo sent me her journal to have a look at, it was beautiful and I made her a journal page using the letter T for time for her to add to the journal if she wished.

I did not see the need to explain what the word time means, I think White Rabbit says it all. I added a Prima pocket watch with the word time inside and added a Prima glass bead which magnifies the word nicely. The watch has been coloured gold with alcohol ink and finished off with Treasure Gold, White Fire. I did a little stenciling in the background and the pattered tea party paper is from the Alice collection by Graphic 45.

I gave the White Rabbit a different colour of jacket, I really love this image and it was so easy to colour with Promarkers, Copics and Prismacolour pencils. I coloured him twice and then layered up one of the images to give him some dimension.If you are a fan of Alice in Wonderland, Ignacio at Nicecrane has lots of wonderful images in this series.

Audubon Bookmarks (a new style)

Ginny at my DT did these really so different Audubon Bookmarks working with my Collection,,,,,and all over she is explaining the compete process,,, so here is tutorial:Today on my desk, a batch of bookmarks that will be going out in get well and thinking of you cards. I read a lot ( real books), recently someone sent me a card with a book mark and I thought it was such a brilliant idea I've been making and doing the same!

I like to put something on the back, a bible verse or great quote.....

I used Nicecrane book mark images for these:

These images print up nicely, these are done on 100# smooth cardstock

I did one very simply in balck and white with out a backing

I am going to do a ink comparison soon, the ink I used on the backs and the front of this stamp is really printer ink I buy in bulk, for 7.99 I buy a large 16oz bottle black HP printer ink refill. I put a few drops on my ink pad and I have the best black ink I have found. Normal reinkers run around 4.99 per 1/2 oz. if you do a lot of stamping and go through a lot of ink, those prices are downright gouging! I'd been looking for am economical replace and found one!!! But more on that later!

Spring is coming..........

Really Spring is near, so I asked to some DT members to work with Spring Sheets,,,,: Flowers, birds and so,,,,, to inspirate you,,,,,,,,and here is The  stunning work by Brenda

You can`t miss Brenda `s Creations

This card has a base created with the clever cut and weld facility on the Cricut Mini which allows you to make custom borders such as this one and your imagination is the only restriction. It's still available at lots of places for £99 so a great deal. I kept the card fairly simple, punching the corners of the image with a butterfly punch and matting onto coordinating cardstock. The border butterflies and dragonflies are shaded with Pan Pastels plus a couple of die cut ones.

I printed one of the Nicecrane Vintage Flowers images twice, cut out and decoupaged, cut a fancy oval with a die, placed some cord inside the oval and layered over a stamped sentiment, the backing DP is BoBunny..
