SM #68 - Color Challenge {Certainly Celery, Basic Black & More Mustard}

Directly from Danielle `s Blog "Hello dear friends and followers - so glad that you're here to visit me today! Wow - what a great turn out we had last week for the Make Your Mark Challenge at ATS&M. "

I opted for a very clean design so that the image really took front and center on the card, and added just the "teensiest" touches of color to the image using a blender pen and ink pads. My designer paper is from a retired collection called Spice Cake (Stampin Up!) - loved that paper for its rich fall colors. I have enough still to make a matching envelope too! I think this will make a great Thanksgiving card - or Thank You card. Haven't decided yet which - so I left the inside blank for now.

HERE is the adorable sheet use

Halloween Pumpkins

Monika Skinner was working with my Halloween Pumpkins DSL,,,,to create this unnusual Halloween Card & Tag, I am falling in lovw with these unique and elegant colors,,,,woww, wowww

For this week’s DT piece I went for a Halloween inspired theme, here it is:

For my card this week I used one image from the delightful Halloween Pumpkins and some digital papers called Grunge Fantasy Paper Pack, both from Nicecrane Designs. Both are perfectly suited for making some beautiful cards for this week’s colour challenge … and because I had so much fun making the card … I made a matching tag too!

I coloured my image using Promarkers for skin and shadow and Spectrum Noir pens for the green and mustard touches. I then cut my images out and blended the edges with mustard ink. For the layered background I punched a border using the green paper from the pack, and I also cut a piece of the black/grey and the black/green paper for layering. (My black/green paper looks more black/mustard, but then my magenta ink was close to running out. In fact I had to replace it after the sheet had printed). I also punched a lace border, a flower and some leaves from black card and some more smaller flowers from celery and mustard card. I then distressed the edges of my white base card with some black ink and blended the edges of my papers, but not the border, with black ink too before layering as shown and finishing off by adding some black pearls.

For the tag I cut some black card into a tag shape, layered as shown and added pearls and a length of black distressed celery ribbon to finish.

Florence asked me to alter digitally my original imaves to get a better look, so yes, it sound as a great idera and here is her stunning work: I have altered these digi images a little bit using PSE. They are perfect the way they are but I personally wanted a softer feel to them. That is the beauty of Nicecrane Designs Images, the quality is such that you can manipulate them in so many different ways to suit your own style of cardmaking and crafting. Not only that but they are absolute bargain. Seriously, you have to see for youself.

For my second card I cut the little clown out and decoupaged it up a little. Talking of decoupage….Hello Rita…Hope you are ok. Rita likes decoupage. I made a little white collar just for more depth.

DSC_0043atflo0744BPThis card is dedicated to my lovely blogging friend Cathryn who has been really poorly. Thinking of you Cathryn and take care.

I wanted something a bit quirky with this. I love the surreal artwork. It just fascinates me. Especially the works by artists such as Christian Schloe and Catrin Welz Stein. So, I took inspiration from that style and added the fish swimming in the sky.

And a new Traditional Halloween Card

I love this cheeky little character. I thought, for this one, I would stay traditional and use just black and orange colours. I used Chocolate Baroques Spookylicious rubber stamp to make the embellishment.

And Here is my Spooky Halloween Save Pack

My final card for today, and also one that I am entering into the Addicted to Stamps and More colour challenge this week. I was working with "Dolly Dingle Vintage Cards".

DSC_0050atflo0744BP
I lightened and altered this image. It’s not really a Halloween card but I thought the colours suit the theme and it could easily be altered into a halloween card.I stamped around the edges of my image with a floral florish.

Squash card/book tutorial

Open view by Brenda

Hello all you lovely Peeps, I have a little project to share which after finishing thought it might be useful to do a tutorial as there are always new crafters in blogland, so I have made a start on another and took a few photos along the way.

Front Cover Card

I know the shape is not a new concept and it's years since I used it in a class, but it sort of came back into my mind the other night when trying to think what I could do to keep my crafty mind occupied until I can stamp again properly. And Ignacio's lovely NicecraneChristmas images are perfect, I used images from the Old Merry Christmas and Adorable Christmas sheets.

How-to :Cardstock: Three 8"x8" pieces 220/250gsm for the main card and two 4"x4" pieces of a heavy weight for the front and back panels. Coordinating DP's: Two pieces 5"x5" for front and back panels, ten 3.5" squares, four left whole and six cut diagonally  Scoreboard and scoring tool, glue and choice and images, ribbons etc., to decorate.

Score each 8"x8" square as indicated above I have made the photo's large in the hope you can read the directions and my current appalling writing - things can only get better

Glue the three pieces together as indicated above

Now fold each scored line both ways to make the whole piece more flexible and then into the finished shape

This is how I deal with my box lids and the same process works for this project and below the finished panel ready to be adhered to the main piece. And finally add all the internal square and triangle DP's sections and decorate.

I am not totally convinced my explanations Yo can get a Video Tutorial HERE:

Easy,faster and so funny,,,,,,,TRY IT.

The Girls her at StampARTic where so lucky as to be sponsored by Nicecrane Designs with images that we used in all our different projects.: Sheets used are showed below-
Angelica `s work

I transferred the image to a piece of chipboard covered with ordinary tin foil. A top coat of Decoart Patio paint Clearcoat. I love the effect of image transfer to tin foil, it really gives the picture an "inner glow"

The frame is also made from tin foil (glued to a piece of cardstock). I used an embossingfolder from Provo Craft/Cuttlebug and then applied several washes of Decoart Carbon Black acrylic
paint to give it a weathered, aged look.
Enjoy the amazing work by Mia`
The images from Nicecrane are absolutely adorable and I had so much fun creating with them. So, I was inspired by autumn colours, different shades of brown and green. I also love fairies as you might have seen on my projects before and this little girl was so cute sitting quietly and speaking to her friend, the frog.

Absolutely a delicious to watch,,,
