Colorful Nature Sheet & Vintage Happy Christmas Cards

Another card for the playground

Sally loves Nature and birds so she did this colorful and amazing bird card: After a very hectic week, I am staggering back to blogland with a final entry for Di's snippet playground challenge.

This a bit bright for a Friday night?! I loved the colours in the topper, which is another from Nicecrane designs. You can find this on the Colourful Bature Collage sheet, which I love! I found a snippet of yellow card that matched the yellow Hammer and the blue snippet was the right shade of stormy sky. To dull down the yellow a little I over stamped it with the worn paint stamp from Inkylicious in Stormy sky DI. Two more snippets to mat and layer and a snippet of ribbon too. This is my third time in the playground in a fortnight - put the flag out Miss Di! Fingers crossed that I am in with a chance of winning that water drops stamp! Thanks for looking!

A Vintage Happy Christmas

Showing you my new Vintage Christmas Collections,,,and all over all you can do it with these new sheets, take alok to the work by Margreet at my DT :For this Vintage Christmas card I have used papers from my new paper bloc which i bought during my stay in Los Angeles. These papers are so warm colored and the backs are plain kraft. All edges are distressed. The flower is made out of felt with an old Marianne Design that and I put a brad with the same color in the middle. The image used is from the Happy Christmas by Bowley CS  from NiceCrane  Designs.

Pictures included on my new Sheet.

COLOR IT BY YOURSELF

Toni also was working with this sheet but with a different style,,,,coloring my B/ W Digita Stamp.Sitting on my work table along with my favourite pens - my Copic Ciaos. Most of the colouring has been done on the three cute little moppets getting ready to hang their stockings up for Santa...

...and most of the background has been given just a hint of colour to create a 'washed' effect.

I cut two 8.25inch squares of smooth white CS - scored 1inch in from the 'spine' edge on both pieces and then joined the two pieces together by placing DST down the spine edge...

...the front of the card was covered with a sheet of 8x8inch PP from the Craftwork Cards collection "Christmas Post" and I also punched out some of the die-cut poinsettias from the same collection. The spine had two eyelets added and some satin ribbon threaded through. The image was mounted on red textured metallic paper.I love pearls and doilies and there are always some to be found in my stash...

This is the finished card...by Toni

...which has stuck to fairly traditional colours...

...and as you can see, the embellishments give texture and depth to the card.

Autumnal Part Two (Nicecrane Designs)

Jenny was working with my new "Vintage Butterfly Cards" and she did this amazing cretion :Hi everyone and wow! Can't believe how many comments came flooding in for my last post in such a short space of time - thank you everyone. Ironing done - check, washing up done - check, lads ready and off to school - check, dog sorted - check, FB updated - check. Next on the list is my third autumnal card (as promised) this time using a lovely digital image from Nicecrane Designs as a focal point.

This one is a bit of a balance of the more minimal (well, design-wise at least!) with texture.

I kept it simple with the digital image; just some light distressing with ink and some Rennaisance Treasure Gold gilding wax on the edges. This painted image came from a wonderful set from Nicecrane Designs called Vintage Butterflies Cards.

You've seen the master board background already. This time I rubbed a touch more Rennaisance Treasure Gold gilding wax over the stencilled leaves to give them a copper glint.

Where would I be without Tim Holtz' Simple Sayings?! You never know when you are going to need an emergency card for a friend in need so it pays to have some in stock.

And finally the tattered floral flowers with copper centres, and my take on a 'rusted copper' butterfly. It's amazing what you can do with mixed embossing powder.

Do check out Ignacio's range of digital designs at Nicecrane Designs - he has something in the store to suit everyone. I'll be back later with my last minute TH tag entry (it's on the 'to do' list). Until then take care of yourselves and have a great week. Hugs, Jenny x

'Things with Wings'

Janet did this absolutely play of art coloring my "Vintage cute Kids DSL IV" . Another new Twisted Thursday Challenge at theOutlawz! This week the theme is as always..."Anything Goes, with the twist being 'Things with Wings'! The sponsor again this week is Nicecrane Designs. I used this beautiful Nicecrane image of the little girl with lots of butterflies! Be sure to check out all their wonderful vintage designs!!

I used a Stampin Up Embosslit folder for the cutout butterflies, spellbinders die to cut the image out and for the background layer, a Stampin Up ribbon across the middle, and a Prima flower in the corner! Some butterflies have extra Stickles on them, and some of the flowers have highlights done with the Spica pens.

I used the negative space of what was cut with the Spellbinder die for the inside f the card and added more cut out butterflies.

The Copic Pens I used.

I have tried to make a really modern card with a vintage image. The small orange ponpons are stucked on an iron wire and you can buy this pretty ribbon at the Kreatrends 'webshop. I put a two colored piece of rope through the bow, and made a lot of knots in it. Some blue buttons and dewdrops to finish it.

GET WELL SOON CARD (KITTEN STYLE)

Getting a little encouragement when one is ill is well not to despise? When I saw this cute cat with toothache fromNise Crane Designs I just had to make a "Get Well" card.

The base of the card is a paper bag which I cut to approx. 5 "x6, 5". Pattern sheets are from October Afternoon. On the edge of one I used a punch from EKsuksess. The cat is from a collection of several lovely cat motif,Adorable Kittens Louis Wain named collection.

The flowers I embellished with are from Prima, Cards & Well and sisters Partnership. A label sticker from October Afternoon acts as matte for the text written with Jillibean Soup letters.

Stjernestickers from twine + ink dress up a bit here and there.

Has cut into a simple tag of Bazzil and fastened a filetab from Chic Tags in top.

Other materials: -Spellbinders ovals and non-scalloped edge  -Fabric tag from Little Yellow Bicycle
-KatBra-

Sweet Angel Card

Katrin  was working with my Angels Sheets,,,,to create an amazing and sweet card:
My favorite scene when it comes to Christmas cards are decidedly angels, so these beautiful angel pattern fromNice Crane Designs fell in well with me. Victorian Angel Postcards named worksheet with the cute angels.

I have chosen to create a bag short variant with any of these subjects. I have used a white paper bag as a base. The I folded in half, and then measure the approx. 6.5 "x4, 5". All sides of the bag is lined with patterned paper, then they remain stiff and nice. Pattern sheets are from Tilda.

Behind the beautiful angel pattern I have attached a piece cake napkin. The snowflakes are cut with a Marianne Design die (CR1227) and "gran bar" is cut with a Cheery Lynn die.

On the inside, I also used one of englemotiv. The stamp used here and those used on the front is from Short & Well.

The bird is a die-cut from Tilda.

In addition to writing area on the right inside of the card I have also attached a tag. You can either write something or such. attach a gift card or a donation.

On the flip side, I have attached a print of my personal stamp.

Vintage Halloween Treat Cone

Lisa S. is sharing a wonderful Halloween project today that is super easy to put together and is loads of fun to decorate! The talented Ignacio of Nicecrane Designs designed this Vintage Halloween Treat Conewhich has multiple uses. You can hang these on a Halloween tree as ornaments, place candy in them for special trick or treaters or you can use them to jazz up your Halloween party table. Each cone prints on a 8.5 x 11" sheet in color and you also receive with this download three labels which can be used on candy jars or as a gift tag perhaps. You can see them below in the preview sheet byNicecrane Designs.

More close ups of my decorated Vintage Halloween Treat Cone.

Ignacio included cut lines so you know exactly where to fold each side. Here's how I assembled my Vintage Halloween Treat Cone. I used a paper trimmer and trimmed the sides (watch for the gray tab which is attached to one side, you need it to attach your cone so do not cut if off). On the larger ends I left 1/8th of an inch to see where the fold lines were and then I grabbed my Scor Pal and using the score lines I scored my cone. It gives your treat cone nice clean lines and double stick tape was used to join the gray tab to the cone. Now for the fun part which is decorating these. I used black lace trim for the top because they happen to be for two special girls I know. :-) More ideas would be to punch a paper border, use ribbon, metal embellishments or buttons. I added orange trim to two sides and adhered with paper glue and orange tinsel created a nifty handle for my cone.

Here is my Treat Cone Vol I

Best of all, Ignacio created another cone, Vintage Halloween Treat Cone II, which I will be sharing next week. Here's the preview sheet in case you are a bit curious to see it. ;)
