Love is in the Air
Brenda at my DT did this absolutely unique Chipboard Heart to celebrate St. Valentine Day, you can`t miss this inspirational one working wiht my "
Our theme this week at Allsorts is Love is in the Air, one I feel will be popular with Valentines Day just around the corner. We have two lovely sponsors, Nicecrane Designs and DigiStamp.
For the top piece I decorated a chipboard heart, starting by covering with acylic pain then over stamping with Penny Black Floral Thread, distressing the edges and adding some lace and flowers made with Tonic's Stamp and Punch Rose set to embellish round the Nicecrane image from the Sweet Valentine Design sheet.

So cute St Valentine Cards
For my first two projects (there will be another tomorrow), I worked with the same image to create a card and wall hanging. I printed the image on to quite a fine linen textured paper that I found in one of my paper boxes and I was quite pleased with the way it printed with a slight water colour effect. Next I die cut it using Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles and used this as the actual card.
The edges were inked with Tattered Rose, as were the petals of the roses, which are from the Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms set and were die cut using the same paper.
My wall hanging on wood painted with Indigo Blue English Cottage Pink Iced Gem Acrylic, uses just a part of the image, plus papers from a Fairy Belle Collection paper pad, which was free with a magazine, torn around the edges and fixed to the wood with Indigo Blu's "Slap it on'. I treated the wooden heart in the same way, making a collage of torn pieces from the same paper pad and the sentiment from the main Nicecrane image.
To finish I added some crackle glitter glaze by Mod Podge to the heart and some vintage pink ribbon The roses were again made from Bitty Blossoms.
Hope you like these, please check back tomorrow form my second Nicecrane card...

Fronm Chapter XII: Alice's Evidence
`That PROVES his guilt,' said the Queen.
`It proves nothing of the sort!' said Alice.
`Why, you don't even know what they're about!'
`Why, you don't even know what they're about!'
`Read them,' said the King.
The White Rabbit put on his spectacles.
`Where shall I begin, please your Majesty?' he asked.
`Where shall I begin, please your Majesty?' he asked.
`Begin at the beginning,' the King said gravely,
`and go on till you come to the end: then stop.'
`and go on till you come to the end: then stop.'
These were the verses the White Rabbit read:--
`They told me you had been to her,
And mentioned me to him:
She gave me a good character,
But said I could not swim.

Such beautiful creations from everyone. These lovely images certainly lend themselves to die-cut cards to add that 'lace effect' - I used the same technique on a recent card I made using one of these fab images.
